In the land of Asgard there is a struggle for power which over spills on Midgard or Earth to us common mortals.
The evil Loki plans to upsurb his brother Thor from the right hand of his father Odin. Chief of mischief and constant plotting, he was instrumental in the formation of the Avengers in the Marvel Universe comic series and once again recreated in more modern settings in the Avengers movie. Taking a leaf from the Marvel Ultimates Universe, the Avengers movie recreates that singular world shattering event that brings the World’s Mightiest Heroes together.
Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. with Maria Hill and the rest of the team (although no Dum Dum or Gage) are all gathered to fight and defeat Loki’s world conquering plans.
Captured in great detail the Marvel Universe Avengers movie series Loki comes his cosmic spear which he uses to great effect in the movie.

Some of the greatest battles in the Marvel Universe has been between our heroes like Thor battling against huge villians like this Frost Giant. Usually under the stewardship of his brother Loki. Marvel Universe allows you to recreate these great battles in our own home.
With various battles between Thor and the Frost Giants, we can only imagine the scene.

Captain America The First Avenger is a truly awesome movie. Capturing the essence of the comics and the true soul of the Captain America / Steve Rogers character. Faithful to the origins of this iconic hero with a modern upgrade to the new Marvel Universe.
Chris Evans makes a great Steve Rogers / Captain America. From the skinny kid to the strapping Captain America, he makes the part. The effects are awesome too, shrinking him down for his pre-treatment skinny self.
Of course, all the key characters are here especially Dr Erskine, Peggy Carter, The Red Skull, Howling Commandos and many more.
We get glimpses of the all the classic costumes that Captain America has had during his comic run as well which brings back memories for the comic fan. Even the presence of the first edition of Captain America makes an appearance in the movie.
The action is also first rate with Hydra presenting the main villians under the leadership of the Red Skull. Only disappointment was that we did not see the final transformation of Armin Zola into the mechanised menace that we love to hate.
Hopefully this will be something saved for the next movie.
